
This photo was taken from near the top of Bohemia mountain facing west. The name Bohemia was the nick name of James Johnson the man who discovered the gold.

This is the stamping mill purchased by Joseph Knott in 1870. It was the first operation to start processing the gold and eventually brought a fabulous amount of wealth to the area.

The gold from the Bohemia Mining District brought a financial boom to the town of Cottage Grove.

This is the Historic Columbia River Highway, parts of which are still in use today.

This is Multnomah Falls which is located on the south bank of the Columbia River. The water fall drops in two parts, the top is a 542 foot plunge, and the bottom falls an additional 69 feet.
